New study aims to better predict aortic risk using simple artery stiffness test

NCT ID NCT05715203

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at how stiff the arteries are in people who have a genetic condition that causes a bulge in the main artery (aortic aneurysm). Researchers want to see if measuring artery stiffness can help predict who is at higher risk. About 250 participants will have non-invasive tests like blood pressure and pulse wave velocity. No treatment is given—this is purely an observation to improve future risk assessment.
