New combo procedure aims to fix aortic tears more completely
NCT ID NCT07198295
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests a new way to treat a serious tear in the aorta (type B aortic dissection). The standard procedure uses a stent to close the main tear, but blood can still leak into a false channel, causing problems later. This study adds small plugs to block that false channel. Researchers will follow 72 patients for 12 months to see if the false channel fully seals and if there are serious side effects.
