Shape-Memory polymer implant targets deadly aortic tears

Summary
This early study tests a new implant made of shape memory polymer to block blood flow in the false lumen of an aortic dissection. The goal is to prevent the aorta from growing and reduce complications. About 30 adults with type A or B aortic dissection who need false lumen treatment will take part. The study focuses on safety and whether the implant can be delivered and placed correctly.
