First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This early study tests a new device made of shape memory polymer that is placed into the false channel of an aortic dissection to block blood flow and prevent the aorta from growing larger. About 15 adults with type A or type B aortic dissection who have already had or don't need initial tear repair will be enrolled. The main goals are to see if the implant is safe and can be delivered successfully.
