Can singing and breathing exercises calm teen anxiety? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07298031
Summary
This study aims to see if simple psychology and music-based techniques can help reduce anxiety and improve overall wellbeing in middle and high school students who are in choir. Researchers will teach students specific breathing exercises, performance anxiety coping strategies, and ways to connect emotions to song lyrics during their regular choir classes. They will compare the results from about 200 students who try these techniques to a similar group of students who do not, using surveys and interviews to measure any changes in anxiety and wellbeing.
