Virtual buddy calms kids before surgery
NCT ID NCT04586569
Summary
This study tested whether a special interactive video chat tool could help reduce anxiety for children and their parents before surgery. Researchers compared the tool to the standard educational materials hospitals usually provide. They measured anxiety levels in the waiting room and also looked at whether children woke up more calmly from anesthesia.
