Could a common antidepressant help people battling pancreatic cancer?

NCT ID NCT05289830

Summary

This study tested if the antidepressant escitalopram could prevent depression and improve quality of life in people with localized pancreatic or related cancers. Participants were receiving chemotherapy before possible surgery and were not already on psychiatric medications. The trial was terminated early after enrolling only 4 people, so no clear results are available.
