Blood test upgrade: researchers compare anticoagulants to reduce false alarms

NCT ID NCT06753838

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at how the choice of blood thinner (anticoagulant) affects a common test for platelet function (PFA200). The standard tube uses citrate, but it often causes technical problems. Researchers will compare it to a different tube (BAPA) in 100 adults already scheduled for a PFA test. The goal is to see if BAPA gives more reliable results with fewer alarms.
