Scientists harvest Survivors' immunity to battle superbug
NCT ID NCT04335383
Summary
This study aims to develop a new treatment for infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a bacteria that can become resistant to all known antibiotics. Researchers will collect blood from 30 patients who have previously fought off this infection to isolate the natural antibodies their bodies made. These antibodies will be reproduced in a lab to create a potential new therapy that could work when antibiotics fail.
