Race against time: which Blood-Cleaning method works faster for autoimmune crisis?

NCT ID NCT03635385

Summary

This study compared two blood-filtering techniques (plasma exchange and immunoadsorption) to see which one removes harmful antibodies faster in patients with severe autoimmune kidney failure or lung bleeding. The goal was to quickly reduce these damaging antibodies while waiting for standard immune-suppressing drugs to take effect. Researchers enrolled 40 adults with these conditions to measure how quickly each method cleared the antibodies from their blood.
