Can a course of pills replace surgery for appendicitis?

NCT ID NCT07492329

Summary

This study aims to find out which patients with appendicitis can be successfully treated with antibiotics alone, and which ones need surgery. Researchers will follow 400 adults to see how well each treatment works and identify signs that can help doctors choose the best option. The goal is to gather evidence to guide future treatment decisions, potentially avoiding surgery for some people.
