Can a dose of antibiotics stop deadly hospital pneumonia?
NCT ID NCT07203638
Summary
This study is testing whether giving preventive antibiotics can stop patients on breathing machines from developing pneumonia, a serious and common hospital infection. It will involve 100 adult patients who are on mechanical ventilation but do not have pneumonia when they start. Researchers will compare patients who receive the antibiotics to those who receive a placebo to see which group gets fewer infections.
