Do arthritis patients need antibiotics for a simple tooth pull?
NCT ID NCT07275580
Summary
This study aims to find out if a single dose of an antibiotic is needed to prevent infection after a simple tooth extraction in people with autoimmune diseases who are on medications that weaken their immune system. It will compare the antibiotic amoxicillin to a placebo (a dummy pill) in 352 participants. The goal is to provide clear evidence on whether this common practice is actually necessary or if it can be safely avoided.
