One pill vs. five days: the antibiotic battle for safer kidney stone surgery

NCT ID NCT07355907

Summary

This study tested two different antibiotic plans to prevent infections after a common kidney stone removal procedure (PCNL). Researchers compared a single large dose of one antibiotic the night before surgery to a five-day course of a different antibiotic. They wanted to see which approach better protected patients from post-surgery infections and sepsis.
