Smart stitches fight infection in joint surgery
NCT ID NCT07322289
Summary
This study is testing if using stitches coated with an antibiotic (triclosan) can help prevent infections from coming back after surgery to clean infected hip or knee replacements. It will compare these special stitches to the standard stitches currently used. The goal is to see if the antibiotic stitches are just as safe and effective, while potentially offering a stronger and more comfortable wound closure.
