Single shot to shield lungs: antibiotic test for vulnerable patients
NCT ID NCT07450404
Summary
This study aims to see if a single dose of the antibiotic ceftriaxone works well enough in the body to prevent early pneumonia in critically ill patients with brain injuries who are on breathing machines. It will enroll 60 adults to check if the drug reaches effective levels, especially in patients whose kidneys clear medicine faster than normal. The goal is to understand how to best use this preventive treatment to protect these vulnerable patients from infection.
