Simple antibiotic step could transform skin graft recovery

NCT ID NCT07286851

Summary

This study looked back at medical records to see if applying antibiotic ointment during skin graft surgery helps prevent infections and improves healing. Researchers compared 142 patients in rural Bangladesh who had skin grafts before and after the hospital started using the ointment. They checked whether the antibiotic reduced infections, helped the graft heal better, and decreased the need for additional surgeries.
