Simple antibiotic step may protect skin grafts from infection
NCT ID NCT07286851
Summary
This study looked back at medical records to see if applying an antibiotic ointment during skin graft surgery helps patients heal better. Researchers compared 142 patients in rural Bangladesh who had skin grafts before and after the hospital started using the ointment. They checked if the ointment reduced infections, improved graft survival, and lowered the need for follow-up surgeries.
