Researchers test new antibiotic timing for heavier patients
NCT ID NCT06690905
Summary
This study tested whether giving a common antibiotic (piperacillin-tazobactam) as a longer, slower infusion is a practical way to research better dosing for people with obesity. It involved 45 hospitalized adults with obesity who needed this antibiotic. The main goal was to see if this type of study was feasible to run, checking things like how many people could join and if blood tests could be done on schedule.
