Summary
This study tested a computer tool that helps nurses decide when antibiotics are needed for patients with colds, sore throats, or other respiratory infections. The tool was used in 347 patients at primary care and urgent care clinics. Researchers measured whether the tool was helpful and if it reduced unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions.
