Eye injection trial aims to halt rare childhood blindness disease

NCT ID NCT03940690

Summary

This study tested whether injections into the eye (anti-VEGF) could control Coats disease, a rare condition that causes abnormal blood vessels and fluid buildup in the retina, often leading to vision loss. It aimed to see if these injections, used alone or with other treatments, could improve the disease stage better than standard care. The trial was designed for patients with moderate Coats disease who had not yet received any treatment for their affected eye.
