Inclusion Criteria: 1. Characteristic presentations of anti-LGI1 encephalitis; 2. LGI1-immunoglobulin G (IgG) positivity in serum and/or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) by fixed cell-based assay (Euroimmun, Lübeck, Germany) 3. follow-up ≥ 18 months after initial immunotherapies 4. exclusion of alternative diagnoses Exclusion Criteria: 1. presence of coexisting neural autoantibodies 2. history of central nervous system (CNS) infections, severe neurological or primary psychiatric disorders 3. no prior use or lack of first-line immunotherapy 4. insufficient follow-up data
