Could a simpler surgery plus a drug be as good as major sinus surgery?

NCT ID NCT07200336

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether a less invasive surgery (simple polyp removal) combined with an anti-IL-5 drug works as well as more extensive sinus surgery with the same drug for people with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps. About 360 adults will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: drug alone, drug plus simple polyp removal, or drug plus extended sinus surgery. The goal is to see if the simpler approach can improve symptoms and quality of life without the need for more complex surgery.
