Scientists test vaccine to block Cocaine's high
NCT ID NCT02455479
Summary
This early-stage study is testing the safety of an experimental vaccine designed to help people with cocaine addiction. The vaccine works by training the immune system to make antibodies that trap cocaine in the bloodstream, preventing it from reaching the brain and producing a high. The study will enroll 150 adults with cocaine dependence to receive either the vaccine or a placebo, while all participants also receive behavioral therapy.
