Smart braces aim to stop arthritis before it starts
NCT ID NCT04562896
Summary
This study tested different designs of custom carbon fiber ankle braces. The goal was to see if a brace could reduce stress on the ankle joint cartilage after a fracture, which might help prevent the development of painful arthritis later on. Researchers worked with 22 adults who had a healed ankle fracture, measuring forces and comfort as they walked in different brace designs.
