New heart stent and shorter blood thinner combo could cut bleeding risk

Summary
This study tests a new type of heart stent (Angiolite) and a shorter course of blood thinners after stent placement. About 2,300 people with narrowed heart arteries will be randomly assigned to get either the new stent or a standard one, and also to take blood thinners for a shorter or standard time. The goal is to see if the new stent works as well and if shorter blood thinners reduce bleeding without raising the risk of heart attacks or strokes.
