Emergency room trial tests new drug to rescue patients from deadly shock

NCT ID NCT06693726

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether giving a medication called angiotensin II early in the emergency department is practical and helpful for patients with septic shock—a life-threatening condition where blood pressure drops dangerously low. The study will enroll 20 adults who need medication to support their blood pressure despite receiving fluids. Researchers will see if adding angiotensin II helps reduce the need for other blood pressure medications and stabilizes patients.
