Silent threat: study scans for hidden artery bulges before they burst
NCT ID NCT05360108
Summary
This study aims to find out how common hidden bulges (aneurysms) are in the main belly artery and the leg artery in people at higher risk. Researchers will use simple ultrasound scans to screen over 500 men and women aged 55 and older, focusing on smokers and those with a family history of these conditions. The goal is to gather better information to see if routine screening for these potentially dangerous bulges is needed and helpful.
