Skip the tube suction? study tests simpler Wake-Up from surgery

NCT ID NCT07287293

Summary

This study is testing if doctors can skip a standard suctioning step when removing a patient's breathing tube after surgery. Researchers want to see if skipping this step reduces coughing and sore throat after waking up, without causing problems with low oxygen levels. About 400 adults having planned surgery will be randomly assigned to either get the suctioning or skip it, and their recovery will be closely monitored.
