Doctors probe hidden effects of anesthesia gas
NCT ID NCT07352826
Summary
This study aims to understand how different levels of oxygen and anesthetic gas flow during surgery affect the body's carbon monoxide and related cell-protection signals. Researchers will compare two anesthesia techniques in 120 healthy adults having planned surgery lasting over two hours. The goal is to gather knowledge about whether low gas flow influences markers of inflammation and cell stress, not to test a new treatment.
