Study tests which anesthesia is safer for stroke patients during surgery

NCT ID NCT06175715

Summary

This study aims to find out which type of anesthesia is safer and more effective for patients having surgery to clear a blocked neck artery after a recent stroke. It will compare regional anesthesia (where the patient is awake but numb) to general anesthesia (where the patient is fully asleep) in 100 participants. The main goal is to see which method leads to fewer complications like another stroke, heart attack, or death during and after the operation.
