New anesthesia combo may calm Kids' Post-Surgery confusion

NCT ID NCT06624592

Summary

This study aims to see if a specific combination of anesthesia drugs (sevoflurane with dexmedetomidine) is better at preventing post-surgery confusion and agitation in young children than a standard drug (isoflurane). It will involve 400 children aged 2-7 having common surgeries like tonsil removal or eye muscle surgery. Researchers will measure how often this confusion happens and how long recovery takes.
