New anesthesia combo aims for smoother recovery after colon surgery

NCT ID NCT07239479

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a medication called dexmedetomidine to standard anesthesia (desflurane) helps patients recover better after laparoscopic colon surgery. Researchers will compare the combination to anesthesia alone in 40 patients. They want to see if the mix uses less anesthesia, keeps blood pressure steadier during surgery, and helps patients wake up feeling better afterward.
