New insert offers hope for bowel control without surgery

NCT ID NCT04657588

Summary

This study tested whether a new anal insert device could help people with fecal incontinence (accidental bowel leakage) better control their symptoms. Researchers compared the device against usual care in 73 participants over 8 weeks. They measured changes in leakage severity, quality of life, and whether the device was cost-effective to use.
