Hidden suffering: many women Don't report Life-Altering birth injury side effects
NCT ID NCT04940494
Summary
This study aimed to understand how common and why women develop anal incontinence (loss of stool or gas control) after a severe tear of the anal muscles during childbirth. Researchers followed 227 women who had this type of injury between 2005 and 2019 to track when problems started and identify risk factors. The goal was to gather better information to help doctors prevent and manage this often-underreported condition.
