Study halts early: which surgical thread works best for anal fistulas?
NCT ID NCT05933343
Summary
This study aimed to compare two types of surgical materials—a braided suture and a plastic loop—used to create a long-term drain for complex anal fistulas. The goal was to see which material was better at draining infection, lasted longer without breaking, and improved patients' quality of life. The trial was terminated early after enrolling only two participants.
