New drug trial targets lingering COVID breathing woes

Summary
This trial is testing if a drug called anakinra can help people with long COVID who have ongoing breathing problems and signs of an overactive immune system. About 182 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either anakinra or a placebo for 4 to 8 weeks. The main goal is to see if the drug improves lung function, reduces hospital visits, and prevents worsening of lung scarring compared to the placebo.
