New scan aims to map deadly protein buildup in the heart

NCT ID NCT05758493

Summary

This study is testing a new imaging tracer called Iodine-124 evuzumitide (AT-01) to see if it can create better pictures of where harmful amyloid proteins build up in the body, especially in the heart. Researchers will scan 150 patients with systemic amyloidosis using PET/MRI or PET/CT machines to see how well the tracer works and if it correlates with disease severity. The goal is to improve how doctors see and understand this complex disease, which could help guide future treatments.
