Scientists hunt for hidden cause of diabetic nerve damage

NCT ID NCT03481283

Summary

This study aims to understand if a hormone called amylin is connected to nerve damage (neuropathy) in people with Type 2 diabetes. Researchers will collect blood and skin samples from 40 participants with diabetes and nerve pain to measure amylin levels. They will then check if higher amylin levels correlate with worse nerve pain and function, hoping to find a new marker for the disease.
