First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests if adding evolocumab (a powerful cholesterol-lowering injection) to standard care helps heart attack patients reach very low LDL cholesterol goals and reduces the risk of death or unplanned hospital visits. About 2,166 adults who had a recent heart attack and needed a stent procedure will be randomly assigned to get evolocumab or usual treatment. The goal is to see if the extra drug leads to better outcomes over 12 months.
