Fluid boost in womb may help turn stubborn breech babies

NCT ID NCT00465712

Summary

This study tested whether adding sterile fluid to the womb (amnioinfusion) could help turn a breech baby head-down after a first manual turning attempt had failed. Pregnant people with a single, full-term breech baby were randomly assigned to get the fluid procedure before a second turning attempt or to just get the second turning attempt. The main goal was to see if this helped more babies be head-down at birth, potentially avoiding a C-section.
