New hope for kids with leukemia: study tests drug to make chemo work better
NCT ID NCT03164057
Summary
This study is testing if giving a special 'priming' drug for five days before standard chemotherapy helps children and young adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The goal is to see if this approach is safe and if it makes the chemotherapy more effective at controlling the cancer and keeping it from coming back. Researchers will measure how well patients tolerate the treatment and track their long-term health outcomes.
