New combo aims to wipe out hidden leukemia before transplant

NCT ID NCT06773208

Summary

This study is testing whether a combination of two drugs, azacitidine and venetoclax, can help get rid of very low levels of leukemia cells that remain after standard chemotherapy in adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The goal is to better prepare patients for a bone marrow transplant from a donor, which could lower the chance of the cancer coming back. The study will enroll about 30 adults who are in remission but still have these trace cancer cells.
