New drug combo aims to boost survival in leukemia transplant patients

Summary
This study is testing which of two drug combinations works better to prepare adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) for a stem cell transplant. The goal is to see if using clofarabine instead of fludarabine before the transplant helps patients live longer by reducing the chance of the cancer coming back. Researchers will enroll 302 patients whose AML is in remission to compare survival rates, quality of life, and treatment costs over two years.
