Scientists Fine-Tune cancer drug mix to protect patients from infections
NCT ID NCT07254611
Summary
This study aimed to find the safest way to combine three medications for older adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a type of blood cancer. Researchers tested a standard cancer drug combination (HMA + venetoclax) along with an antifungal drug (posaconazole) to prevent infections. They closely monitored drug levels in the blood of 15 patients to adjust doses and avoid dangerous side effects while keeping the treatment effective.
