New heart stent device tested in japan – could it reduce fractures?

NCT ID NCT07373353

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new device called AMJ-401 in 50 people with ischemic heart disease (blocked heart arteries) in Japan. Participants receive the device during a standard procedure to open blocked arteries. The main goals are to check for acute strut fractures right after the procedure and to see how well the device is covered by tissue after 6 months. This is an early-stage trial focused on safety and device performance.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

AMJ-401 device

What this could lead to

If successful, this device could improve outcomes for patients with blocked heart arteries by reducing complications like strut fractures.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase study with only 50 participants. It focuses on device performance, not long-term patient benefits. The device may not show clear advantages over existing stents.
