New drug trial targets genetic drivers of aggressive stomach cancers

Summary

This study is testing whether the drug amivantamab is a safe and effective treatment for people with advanced stomach or esophageal cancer that has specific genetic changes (EGFR or MET amplification). The trial will enroll about 25 adults whose cancer has worsened after at least one prior treatment. Researchers will measure how well the drug shrinks tumors and monitor side effects.
