Does a DNA warning change your diet? eye disease study investigates

NCT ID NCT05265624

Summary

This study wanted to see if telling healthy people their genetic risk for age-related macular degeneration (AMD) would motivate them to improve their diet and nutrient levels. Researchers enrolled 80 Caucasian adults without AMD, gave them a genetic test, and then tracked changes in their skin, eye, and blood nutrient levels over one year. The goal was to understand if this type of risk information leads to measurable, positive lifestyle changes.
