First human test of Alzheimer's prevention vaccine begins
NCT ID NCT07158905
Summary
This early-stage study aims to test the safety of an experimental vaccine called AV-1980R in older adults who show early biological signs of Alzheimer's disease but don't yet have memory problems. The study will enroll 48 participants aged 65-80 who will receive either the vaccine or a placebo over several months. Researchers want to see if the vaccine is safe and if it triggers an immune response against tau protein, which is involved in Alzheimer's progression.
