Can frailty predict Alzheimer's decline? new study seeks answers

NCT ID NCT06570109

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study follows 130 older adults with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's to see if frailty (weakness, slowness, exhaustion) leads to faster loss of daily living skills like managing money or bathing. Participants are assessed at the start and after one year, with long-term check-ins for nursing home admission and survival. The goal is to better understand who might need extra support, not to test a new treatment.
